Dental Implants and Implant supported dentures

Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth or help replace and restore multiple teeth that have gone missing. Our restorative dental implant treatments can be performed to meet a wide variety of needs, and our doctors can recommend the ideal solution to help you achieve the best possible results.

Frequently Asked Questions

A completed dental implant is composed of three essential pieces: the post, the abutment, and the dental crown. The post is the first piece which is surgically implanted  underneath your soft tissue in order for it to fuse with your jawbone. Following the healing process for this procedure, an abutment is attached to the post and then covered with a customized dental crown.

No, people will not be able to notice you have a dental implant unless you tell them. The dental implant is a discreet missing tooth restoration. This means that the dental crown we provide to top off your dental implant blends in seamlessly with your smile.

One of the most important steps in getting a dental implant is the healing process. When the post is surgically implanted, it will take several months to properly heal. Do not worry! You will not be experiencing pain while your post is healing. Rarely do patients have any discomfort outside of the first 1-2 weeks after placement of the post. It is best not to rush the healing process, as the fusion of the post into the jawbone is what gives you the functionality that you are seeking from a dental implant. In most cases the post is ready for the abutment and crown after 4-6 months.

As your implant site heals, do your best not to irritate the affected area with crunchy or sticky foods. However, once the implant site is fully healed and your dental crown is placed on top of it, you are free to utilize it just as you would your natural tooth. Dental implants require no additional care beyond brushing and flossing regularly. You are free to eat whatever you like!
